FeatureDive into the blue dial world

Blue dial watches have always been a rage and here are the top 5 for your next buy

May We Recommend

We all love Blue. It is undeniably the colour that brings supreme joy when we see it around us; as the colour of the sky or for some lucky ones, as the colour of the sea. Although we often associate blue with masculinity, it is one shade which is universally loved. We all have blue in our wardrobes; be it our favourite pair of jeans, or our much treasured blue jacket.

Blue can be worn in several ways to evoke diverse feelings; it is considered to be the warmest colour as well. You can sport it alone or pair it with different colours and textures. But, perhaps our favourite combination with blue is tan leather. You probably already know that everything you wear reflects some light on your personality. Fashion consultants recommend wearing a blue dial watch for job interviews because it symbolizes a sense of loyalty, cleanliness and understanding.

Ahead, we’ve picked our favourite watches in our most cherished hue. Whether it’s a cobalt blue or a navy shade, we’ve rounded up the best options available, so you can wade into the blue with ease and add versatility to your entire collection.

The Blue Cosmopolitan Watch

Rado is one of the most sought after brands given its history of material innovations in watchmaking. Clean, classic and simple is what truly defines the Rado D-Star. A sleek 21st-century dive watch in a beautiful deep blue 42 mm case. The ceramic bezel also showcases the same deep blue shade, which looks serene and adds more depth to the watch.

Under its domed sapphire crystal is a modified ETA 2824-2 mechanical movement, with a 38-hour power reserve, which you can see through the sapphire see-through case back.

A gorgeous dive watch, and decidedly a dressy one. With its cool steel case and shimmering blue dial, it’s the watch to sport while sipping a cocktail on the yacht. The D-Star 200 name stems from the fact that this watch is water resistant to 200 meters.

The blue dial, stainless steel bracelet combination makes the D-Star timeless and versatile.

 The Blue Racetimer

Graham is a brand that is associated with the famous English watchmaker George Graham, popularly referred to as the father of the chronograph. A brand well known for producing unique and quirky watches, the Graham Silverstone “clearly depicts the world of motor-racing” as stated by Eric Loth, CEO of Graham – a gentleman golfer and motoring enthusiast.

The Graham Silverstone, fitted with an automatic bi-compax chronograph, clearly depicts the world of motor-racing.

At 46mm, it’s a surprisingly wearable one in a dark blue colour. Not only is the domed sapphire crystal scratch-resistant, it delivers an equally impressive chronograph movement and a tachymeter function. The minute and hour hands are coated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced readability in low-light conditions. Equipped with a blue rubber strap with a tyre thread motif and red inlay, it is an unarguably bold and powerful statement timepiece. This model is water resistant to 100 meters (10 bars).

Graham has now become a legend for watch connoisseurs; for all the right reasons. This watch for example, is executed with years of research and the expertise of highly skilled and veteran watchmakers, which has culminated in a highly precise and extremely reliable movement.

The Blue Dress Watch

The Omega dress watch has been reinvented with the introduction of the Omega De Ville, a 41mm automatic beauty. The ageless qualities of a less-is-more design and cutting-edge functionality are what makes it an interesting choice for a dressier evening occasion.

Omega de Ville Hour Vision is a special edition 41mm manually wound beauty.

It features a soothing deep blue, sun-brushed dial with faceted hands and hour markers made of 18k white gold. A framed calendar display at 3 o’clock supports the overall styling of the dial. The movement is Omega’s finest, Calibre 8601 co-axial escapement, which also means that the calibre features a double mainspring barrel which is designed to ensure an increased power storage of at least 55 hours (when fully wound). The size is just right and presents zero problems on the wrist.

The combination as a whole – blue dial, stainless steel case and the black leather strap, has given birth to a true classic.

The Omega Hour Vision Blue automatic watch draws some much-needed attention to the noble cause of supporting ORBIS International`s combat against preventable blindness.

The Royally Blue Chronograph

Another colourful timepiece, the vintage styled Capeland features a sunburst finish coating that is further enhanced with its colour scheme of royal blue, red, black and white. If you’re going to choose only one watch from our list, then it’s got to be this one!

Its versatility comes from the slim hands and the different levels depicted on the dial, which add a fair amount of depth to the timepiece. The crown’s shape makes it easy to grasp and hold. The reflective chronograph subdials and the hands are covered with a modest amount of luminous material to increase legibility.

The 41 mm vintage styled Baume et Mercier Capeland features a royal blue sunburst finish coating.

Underneath its classic good looks, the Capeland is powered by an automatic mechanical calibre, La Joux-Perret 8120, which is visible through the rear of the watch. It comes with a black leather strap and the watch case is water resistant up to 50 meters. Baume et Mercier makes some really beautiful chronographs and the Capeland is a perfect example of a versatile sports watch.

The Blue Globetrotter’s Watch

Frederique Constant’s most successful model for a reason! Fitted with rings showcasing 24 major world cities and a 24-hour disc, neatly divided into night and day in a dark blue dial, this piece is a must-have. The center showcases a map of the world in anthracite grey which is slightly raised to give a 3D effect.

The Frederique Constant Worldtimer’s movement is designed in-house and the entire watch is operated via a single crown.

The city which is set at 12-o’clock marks your home time. The layering given to the dial works rather well vis a vis legibility.

The Frederique Constant Worldtimer is operated from a single crown – an excellent piece of engineering. The movement (FC-718) within the 50m water resistant case, is developed in-house and comes with a great 42 hours of power reserve.

A design that presents the perfect balance between classic and contemporary style.

The Worldtimer with its stunning colour palette makes for a rather sharp and sleek watch that can work as a dressy timepiece while you fly around the world to work with your global team. It sits proudly on the wrist in a polished case paired with a navy alligator strap.

    Nice Collection…Devika..

however, I feel the list is little bit incomplete…its missing some classic and unique timepieces such as Grande Seconde Quantième model which was developed to celebrate the 275th anniversary of the first watch made by its namesake, watchmaker Pierre Jaquet-Droz. The beauty in this watch lies in its simplicity and clutter free look.
