In 2022, Oris released a new Divers Sixty-Five edition—the 12H Calibre 400. The new watch reflects the Swiss manufacturer’s 110 years of history in designing and manufacturing watches that make practical sense and offer longevity. In this watch, Oris combines precision with Swiss traditions of mechanical watchmaking, which they are known for. Hand-assembled and tested to ensure performance standards, this timepiece comes with the in-house 12H Calibre 400 movement that promises advanced anti-magnetism, and a 10-year warranty.

Oris made a significant mark in the burgeoning era of dive watches by introducing Diver 65 in 1965. This Divers Sixty-Five is also a modern take on the original. The new 12H takes forward the legacy of the Divers Sixty-Five collection.

The First GMT Bezel In The Divers Sixty-Five Line

By adding a GMT bezel, this new edition of their classic dive watch continues to fit in with the brand’s DNA of only making watches with useful functions. The 12-hour scale on the black bezel replaces the 60-minute dive-timer scale that dive watches are generally known for. A first for the Divers Sixty-Five line, this 12-hour bidirectional-rotating bezel serves to indicate time in a secondary zone—a boon in this age of increased international travel and correspondence.

The Mechanical Goodness Of Calibre 400

The mechanical functions consists of the three-hand timekeeping and the date; both powered by an automatic mechanism offering a massive power reserve of up to 120 hours/five days. This calibre 400’s anti-magnetism enhances the accuracy tremendously. Containing 30 anti-magnetic components—exceeding the norms required by the ISO 764 standard—the in-house movement can  withstand the compromising effect of magnetic fields that watches are subjected to daily. To top that, the movement has an instantaneous date display; the date changes instantly at midnight, rather than slowly moving forward minutes before the watch strikes 12:00. And finally, the fine-timing device and stop-seconds mechanism ensures accuracy in time-setting.

The Classic Dive-Watch Design

The black dial with white indexes, makes it easy to read time at any hour. Coated with Super-LumiNova, the applied hour markers and hands ensure excellent readability in all light conditions. This is a dive-watch staple, as is the 100m water resistance of the 40mm steel case. Both the case and caseback are fitted with sapphire crystal for clarity in viewing the dial and the high-performing movement. Finishing touches include a soft leather strap in black to match the dial or a steel bracelet.
