Titled Louis Erard X Alain Silberstein Excellence Le Régulateur, it created waves in the mid-range watch market, and even won the prestigious Red Dot Award for Product Design (2021). A couple of years later, the old allies reunited to unveil the Le Triptyque Louis Erard X Alain Silberstein; a trio of watches comprising day-date, regulator, and monopusher chronograph models. Two new Le Diptyque Louis Erard X Alain Silberstein pieces were launched in 2022, followed by three sporty chic variants in 2023 titled Louis Erard X Alain Silberstein Khaki Triptych. Continuing this trend, the partnership has progressed to 2024 with a brand new timepiece—the Le Régulateur Tourbillon Louis Erard X Alain Silberstein Black. This timepiece is powered by the tourbillon régulateur mechanical hand-wound movement that finds its forever home inside a 40mm titanium case.
Back To Black: The Le Régulateur Tourbillon Louis Erard X Alain Silberstein Black
This latest collaboration piece by Louis Erard and Alain Silberstein showcases a matt black dial with silver hour counter. Both these spheres connect at the 60-minute marker/12 o’clock that becomes the common index highlighted in red hue. Further, a black flange bears the outer minute track in white and yellow.
This peppy colour scheme is further amplified by the Alain Silberstein signature hands—red lacquered hour hand, blue lacquered minute hand, and yellow lacquered second hand. The vivid elements contrast well against the black background; an aesthetically wise move encouraging quick and easy readability. Additionally, the watch features delicate skeletonisation with a cut-out at six o’clock that reveals the tourbillon underneath the dial.
The dial is housed inside a micro-blasted grade-2 titanium case, which looks resplendent due to the subtle sheen emitted from the grade-5 titanium polishing. Measuring 11.80mm in thickness, the diameter of the case stands at 40mm, while the lug-to-lug arrangement extends the total size to 47mm.
The Unique Le Régulateur Tourbillon Calibre
The titanium body features antireflective sapphire crystals at the dial and caseback, permitting unobstructed views of the movement. Water-resistant up to 100m, the case displays unique character with the Alain Silberstein red lacquered signature crown featuring the Louis Erard symbol. Further, the caseback is engraved with the piece number out of the limited edition of 78. The Le Régulateur Tourbillon Louis Erard X Alain Silberstein Black is driven by the tourbillon régulateur mechanical handwound BCP T02 calibre. This highly functional movement ensures the tourbillon cage completes one rotation every 60 seconds, as it beats at 3Hz and offers a solid 100-hour power reserve.
The restrained, yet colourful timepiece is flanked by a black nylon strap fitted with a micro-blasted Grade 2 titanium buckle. Its strap features a convenient hook-and-loop fastener system for easy adjustment, complemented by functional catch spring bars that allow for quick strap change. Building upon this epic collaboration with Alain Silberstein, Louis Erard try to provide contemporary mechanical creativity and increased accessibility to fine Swiss watchmaking. Overall, this Swiss-made masterpiece exemplifies meticulous craftsmanship and an will lend irresistible charm to any watch collection.
