May We Recommend
As official timekeeper for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, Omega release a tribute to all three top prizes—gold, silver and bronze—in one timepiece: the Paris 2024 Bronze Gold edition. With a case made from bronze gold, Omega’s proprietary alloy, a dial in silver, and timekeeping hands in the brand’s own Sedna gold, the Paris 2024 Bronze Gold timepiece is a comprehensive nod to the world’s largest sporting event. A vintage Omega logo at 12 is among the retrospective elements on the timepiece, and a nod to Omega’s long-standing association with precisely timing the Olympic Games.
The Bronze Goes To…
The Paris 2024 Bronze Gold edition is inspired by a historical 1939 watch from the brand’s archives, with ‘CK 859’ engraved on the caseback as a reference to the watch’s shape and material. The round, 39mm case is crafted from bronze gold, Omega’s proprietary alloy of bronze mixed with gold, palladium and silver, and is resistant to 100m. Behind the closed caseback decorated with the Paris 2024 logo and the Olympic rings, is the brand’s manual winding calibre 8926, with a master chronometer certification and a power reserve of 72 hours.
Silver Medallist
A circular-brushed double railroad minute track around the periphery frames the 925 silver dial, whose centre features a gorgeous clous de Paris motif. A vintage Omega logo sits just under the 12 o’clock numeral and marker, while a small seconds sub-dial at six features the same contrasting textures and finish as the rest of the dial, with a circular railroad track around a patterned centre. The words ‘Ag 925’ sit discreetly just above the hands.
Olympic Gold
To evoke the highest honour at the Olympic Games, the elegant, sword-shaped timekeeping hands are crafted from 18 karat Sedna gold, and coated with bronze gold PVD to give match the case. (Sedna gold is Omega’s rose gold alloy.) The watch is paired with a brown calf leather strap, whose buckle also features the vintage Omega logo, as does the crown at three o’clock on the case.
Omega X Olympics
Over the past year, Omega have released various commemorative timepieces marking their association with the Paris 2024 Olympics encompassing their most distinctive collections. The Seamaster Diver 300M Paris 2024 edition was released last July, one year before the Games. Then came the Speedmaster Chronoscope to mark 100 days to the Games, which the brand followed with the Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Mondo watch as tribute to Omega ambassador and pole vault world record holder Armand Duplantis. Here’s to gold, silver, bronze, and to Omega at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
