Adding more colours to their already vibrant assortment of watches, MeisterSinger recently released two limited-edition models—one in deep arctic blue and the other in orange—under their Unomat collection

Think of single-hand timekeepers and MeisterSinger is a name that has immediate recall value. A Swiss watchmaker with a German design ethos, MeisterSinger are known to produce minimalistic timepieces with a neutral colour palette consisting mostly of blacks, whites, ivories, and blues. However, lately they have also been dabbling with distinct bright hues such as petrol, Bordeaux, combinations of yellow and black or yellow and blue, and orange to provide a wider canvas of timepieces to choose from.
Keeping up with this trend, they recently introduced two more limited-edition (50 pieces each) models in vibrant hues—the Edition Unomat (black with arctic blue), and the NL Edition Unomat (black with orange) designed specifically for watch enthusiasts of the Netherlands.
MeisterSinger Unomat Limited Edition: Dial And Design
Released in 2021, MeisterSinger’s Unomat stands out for features such as water resistance of up to 300m and resistance against magnetic fields. It also won the Red Dot Design Award at the year of its launch. While the dials of its earlier versions came in traditional colours of black, blue, and green, the 2024 models are anything but modest. Taking a bold stance this year, the brand recently released one international edition in arctic blue and the other in bright orange.
Both editions feature black dials with matte finishing, matching the colour of the five-minute markers located at the periphery—an attribute that’s introduced for the first time in Unomat models. The applied double-digit hour numerals in either orange or blue and the white needle-shaped hand—broader in size for a MeisterSinger—are filled with highly luminous material that makes reading time easy at night and in low-light conditions. Along with this, the MeisterSinger logo, the text on the dial, and the hour markers are also luminous. The dial also features a black round date aperture at six o’clock with the date in white, which also glows in the dark.
Robust Built: Case And Bezel
The 43mm Unomat editions are crafted with stainless steel, featuring a jet-black DLC coating that lends them a sporty and rugged appearance. Their mid cases and closed casebacks are matte sandblasted, while the bezels are polished. Another interesting characteristic of the MeisterSinger Unomat that separates it from its sister collections is the presence of the screw-down crown. And, while the screw-down crown is placed on the right side at three o’clock in the arctic blue edition, the NL Edition features the crown on the left at nine o’clock—following the tradition of the previous Netherlands editions.
The Movement
Both models are powered by the series’ standard Swiss Sellita SW400 automatic movement (30 percent larger than the SW200 movement), designed specifically for MeisterSinger’s single-hand watches. Enclosed by many layers of soft iron, it boasts protection from the radiation of cell phones, electrical appliances, magnetic fasteners, and laboratory equipment. It runs at a frequency of 28,800vph, providing a power reserve of at least 38 hours.
Offering a stunning visual contrast against the black case, the rubber straps are either in orange or blue—matching the hue of the hour numerals on the respective dials.
