American designer Nathan George Horwitt conceived of the Movado Museum watch, and the horological world sat up and took notice. In an effort to distinguish his creation from the rest, he removed all the clutter from the dial and focused on the one thing that, today, has become Movado’s signature: a circle at 12 o’clock representing the sun at its strongest—at noon. The Museum watch was influenced by Bauhaus, a German art school known for its creative and unconventional designs.
