Ryan Gosling At The Oscar Nominees Luncheon

Nominated as a supporting actor in the hit film, Barbie, Ryan Gosling attended the Oscar nominees luncheon in a monochromatic ensemble. The pastel, lavender attire looked sublime, even as it made a statement. However, in sharp contrast against this hue was his gold TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Gold. This resplendent Carrera was launched in 2023, and was inspired by a vintage Carrera, which had the time-setting crown on the left of the case, while the pushers remained on the left. The 2023 Carrera Chronograph though, has the crown on the right itself. We believe Gosling was wearing the new one, but with a gold mesh bracelet like that which was paired with the vintage piece.

Cillian Murphy At The Oscar Nominees Luncheon

Lead actor nominee, and a Oscar frontrunner this year for the critically-acclaimed Oppenheimer, Cillian Murphy was a little more classic than Gosling, with his attire at the Oscar nominees luncheon. He chose a deep brown suit, but went open collar. However, Murphy too chose a watch that offered ample contrast against his look. This was the Omega De Ville Prestige in teal hues—on the leather strap and the gorgeous textured dial. Further contrast is seen on the dial of this 41mm steel dress watch, by way of the golden markers and hands, including that of the small seconds sub-dial at six o’clock.

Robert Downey Jr At The Oscar Nominees Luncheon

Murphy’s costar, Robert Downey Jr—who is considered a shoo-in for the supporting-actor Oscar this year for Oppenheimer—turned up at the Oscar nominees luncheon in sophisticated shades of beige and grey. The plaid suit in these hues were perfectly complemented by his timepiece—a Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Chronograph. The grey gradient dial of this bicompax chronograph is paired with a canvas strap in beige. While the watch also comes with an extra strap in black rubber, Downey Jr aptly chose the beige canvas. This 42mm steel watch runs on an automatic movement that can be seen through the display caseback.

Sterling K Brown At The Oscar Nominees Luncheon

Emmy-winning actor Sterling K Brown is nominated for a supporting-actor Oscar this year for his role in the satirical comedy American Fiction. The former star of hit TV series This is Us also chose contrast between his ensemble and his watch, when attending the Oscar nominees luncheon. He wore a suit in a rust hue, and offset it with an IWC watch in blue and steel. This was the Portugieser Perpetual Calendar, with a two-hemisphere moon phase indicator.

One or two of these actors will walk away with an Oscar on March 10, 2024. While that should be interesting to see, we’re also looking forward to seeing what watches these actors wear at the 2024 Academy Awards.
