Colour Theory: Angelus Storm Blue

The purpose of featuring dials in faint, light hues is to elevate the timekeeping elements on the surface. In the Storm Blue edition, black-hued elements accentuated with white and hints of red. This design consists of twin snailed metallic black sub-dials—small seconds at nine o’clock and 30-minute at three o’clock—that exude unusual nonchalance by riding over the Arabic hour markers 10, eight, four and two. Two other elements are designed with black backgrounds; the slim round outer minute counter and the brand logo. Even the case features black elements—the two chronograph pushers named ‘start’ and ‘reset’ for the quick time adjustments, plus the ‘A’ monogram and black ring encircling the crown. Complementing this arrangement are white-hued Super-LumiNova filled appliqué hour markers in Arabic along with the hour and minute hands; numerals on the minute tracker and chronograph counters. Hints of red figure within the chronograph counters, and on the tips of the sweeping seconds hand, plus the pointer arrowhead of the peripheral date hand.

Usage Of Carbon Composite

The Chronodate variants are powered by the in-house calibre A-500, inbuilt with column wheel and horizontal clutch to reduce bulky proportions. It is housed within a container made from from solid, yet lightweight carbon-fibre composite; the same material used to design the pushers. The self-winding mechanism operates the chronograph counters and the corresponding pushers.

As the colour palette of black, blue and silver is complementing addition in the winters and cooling contrast in the summers, the Chronodate Titanium Storm Blue Edition is a bankable choice for every rhyme and season.
