Round-UpCelebrity Watch—February 2024: Jaeger-LeCoultre, Norqain, Omega And Panerai
Television appearances, a movie premiere, and, of course, Hollywood awards—here are some of the most noteworthy watch (and jewellery) sightings of the month, aside from the major awards that we’ve covered this February
May We Recommend
Jaeger-LeCoultre 101 Reine
Anya Taylor-Joy At The Dune: Part Two Premiere
Anya Taylor-Joy made a distinctive appearance at the February 15 London premiere of her film, the highly awaited Dune: Part Two. The Emmy Award-winning actress turned up in an ethereal, all-white ensemble. She complemented her look with an equally pristine jewellery watch, the Jaeger-LeCoultre 101 Reine. A feat in watchmaking and a testament to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s outstanding expertise, this timepiece runs on the maison’s calibre 101, which just happens to be the smallest mechanical movement in the world. Yes, you read that right. It’s mechanical.
Norqain The Wild One Skeleton
Mark Wahlberg At The Late Show With Stephen Colbert
Usually known for wearing some of the most coveted watches in the world—including the odd Patek Philippe and Rolex—Mark Wahlberg made an appearance this February wearing a watch from the far more modest Norqain. The Oscar-nominated actor paired his casual attire with a bright and vivid turquoise-hued watch—The Wild One skeleton, which is known for its enhanced robustness, owing to its high-tech case construction. The cross on his forehead indicates that Wahlberg had attended mass earlier that day for Ash Wednesday, which marks the first day of Lent. As it happens, that Wednesday was also Valentine’s Day.
Omega Speedmaster Moonphase
James Marsden At The 2024 Film Independent Spirit Awards
Former IWC loyalist, James Marsden appeared at the 2024 Film Independent Spirit Awards on February 25, wearing a statement jacket in a textured, metallic brown—almost brass-coloured. He wore this over a fairly casual black T-shirt and trousers. Aptly paired with his look was an Omega Speedmaster in gold and black. While this timepiece is not one of the Moonwatch editions, it does have something to do with the moon, seeing as it features a moon phase display at six o’clock. There is also an analogue date display in addition to the chronograph function. Incidentally, the Moonwatch does not have moon phase or date features.
Panerai Submersible
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson On WWE Smackdown
In the February 16 episode of WWE Smackdown—the wrestling series—Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson made a strong appearance. The wrestling superstar and A-list Hollywood actor wore black, and complementing his beefy build with a chunky timepiece. This was a Panerai Submersible watch. It could have been a Bronzo or a version in Goldtech—Panerai’s proprietary 18-karat gold alloy.
