Round-UpCelebrity Watch: Omega Timepieces At The Paris 2024 Olympic Games
Watches from Omega, the official timekeepers of the Olympic Games, were seen in abundance during the event that ended earlier this month. And this was across collections from the Swiss watchmakers—the Seamaster, Speedmaster and the Constellation

Keely Hodgkinson And Rai Benjamin At The Pairs 2024 Olympics
Gold medal-winning athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Keely Hodgkinson and Rai Benjamin were wearing the ‘Ultra Light’ editions of the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M.
While Great Britain’s Hodgkinson chose the one with blue accents offset against the grey and black tones, USA’s hurdler and sprinter Benjamin wore the version with red details, seen on the stitching as well.
Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Titanium
Armand ‘Mondo’ Duplantis At The Paris 2024 Olympics
Record-breaking Swedish pole vaulter—who won a gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics—during one of his performances, was seen wearing an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra in titanium, like Hodgkinson and Benjamin above. Lightweight titanium is probably a good material of choice to be worn during sporting activity that requires swiftness and precision of moves. Interestingly, Duplantis—who has been a friend of Omega, since before Tokyo—inspired the creation of a special edition of the Aqua Terra, featuring colours that drew from the Swedish flag. That one though is not in titanium, but in steel.
Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch
Thomas Ceccon At The Pairs 2024 Olympics
As opposed to the track athletes above, the swimmers were not wearing watches during their competitive events at the Pairs 2024 Olympics. Although a Seamaster dive timer could more than easily withstand the pressure in the water, a watch would increase some resistance for the swimmers. Hence, they stuck to wearing the watches after the event, during prize-giving. Ironically though, the collection of choice was not Seamaster, but Speedmaster. Gold medallist, Italian swimmer Thomas Ceccon wore the classic Moonwatch—though it was the one with the sapphire crystal glass and caseback. It was during this moment that he caught attention for baring his midriff when he lifted his arms upon winning the gold—another irony for a swimmer.
Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope
Léon Marchand At The Paris 2024 Olympics
A friend of Omega, French swimmer Léon Marchand won five medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics—four gold and one bronze. During one of his medal acceptances, the athlete from the host nation was wearing a Speedmaster, like Ceccon above. He wore a Speedmaster Chronoscope—a two-counter chronograph watch with scales for its tachymeter, telemeter and pulsometer functions, seen on the bezel as well as the dial itself. Before winning big at the games, the Frenchman was seen featured quite prominently in a promotional video that kickstarted Omega’s campaign for this year’s Summer Olympics.
Omega Speedmaster ‘Dark Side of the Moon’
Noah Lyles At The Paris 2024 Olympics
Unlike the other track and field athletes on this list, Noah Lyles from the American team—who won two medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics—was wearing a Speedmaster watch. A ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ edition, this one is dedicated to NASA’s Apollo 8 mission, wherein the astronauts flew around the moon and saw its dark side.
Omega Constellation
Gabby Thomas And Cyréna Samba-Mayela At The Paris 2024 Olympics
More track and field athletes chose Omega. These two women chose elegant timepieces from the Omega Constellation, in contrast against their track attire. American sprinting specialist Gabby Thomas—who won three gold medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics—aptly chose an all gold Constellation watch, featuring diamonds for hour markers and on the bezel of the 29mm case.
On the other hand, Cyréna Samba-Mayela, the French silver medallist, wore a Master Chronometer edition of the Omega Constellation. This one was in steel with Sedna gold, and sized at 29mm.
Meanwhile, as official timekeepers of the Olympic Games, Omega’s setup at Paris 2024 was quite elaborate. Called Omega House, the venue included exhibits from the Omega Museum at their headquarters in Bienne, Switzerland. Among the many Omega ambassadors and friends who visited Omega House was actor Daniel Craig, who was an ambassador as portrayer of James Bond, whose official watch is Omega.
