Patrick Dempsey In The Principality of Monaco

TAG Heuer recently opened a new boutique in the Principality of Monaco, home of the historic Monaco Grand Prix. This took place just before the 2024 Formula One Monaco Grand Prix from May 10 to 12. Present at the boutique opening was the brand’s CEO Julien Tornare, and with him was actor and race-car driver Patrick Dempsey. Along with the opening of the new TAG Heuer retail outlet, they also aptly unveiled a new edition of the TAG Heuer collection that is named after this edition of Formula One. Dempsey, who’s been a brand ambassador for TAG Heuer for several years now—a great fit for the brand, given his passion for motorsport—wore this new Monaco Chronograph at the opening of the new boutique.

Powered by the Heuer 02, in-house chronograph movement, the new Monaco Chronograph is set in a lightweight titanium case. A numbered limited edition of 50 pieces, this model comes with a strap in white rubber, with an overlay of calfskin in red—in total contrast against the stealth look of the case and dial, but complementing the red and white accents on the markers and hands.

Earlier this May, another new edition of a signature collection was unveiled in Milan, ‘Europe’s style capital’. This was the Speedmaster 38, which is a smaller, dressier edition within the family of chronograph watches, to which the iconic Moonwatch also belongs. Omega’s president and CEO, Raynald Aeschlimann was present at this elaborate Milanese affair, as he hosted some of the brand’s friends, including actors Jonathan Bailey, Barry Keoghan; actresses Naomie Harris, Alisha Boe; and supermodel, Alessandra Ambrosia.

Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey was seen wearing a Sedna gold edition of the Speedmaster 38, with a brown dial, while Oscar nominee Barry Keoghan opted for the Moonshine gold, with a green dial. Former 13 Reasons Why actress Alisha also chose the Moonshine gold, but with a green leather strap. Also with a green dial was the steel version worn by James Bond star Naomi Harris. Alessandra Ambrosio, picked the Sedna gold edition with a brown alligator leather strap.

The new Speedmaster 38 features diamonds on the bezel and framing the contrasting sub-dials on all versions—eight in total, in steel, or in Sedna or Moonshine, which are Omega’s proprietary 18-karat gold alloys.

“Our latest Speedmaster watches are beautiful additions to our iconic collection, and I can’t think of a better city than Milan to bring them into the light; especially in the company of such distinguished and stylish guests,” stated Aeschlimann at the event.
