Simu Liu At The PCA 2024
Simu Liu made an appearance on the red carpet at the PCA 2024 dressed in a sophisticated wine-coloured suit. He paired his look with an IWC Perpetual Calendar, in gold. A signature complication for the Schaffhausen-based watchmakers, the perpetual calendar displays are presented neatly around the dial, along with other indicators. Clockwise from the top: the moon phases are at 12, power reserve and analogue date at three, month at six, year at 7:30, and the day of the week and small seconds are seen at nine o’clock.
During the PCA 2024 show, the emcee changed into a powder blue suit, and paired this pastel look with another IWC Portugieser in gold. This one was with a tourbillon—the cage seen through an aperture at six o’clock.
Going with cooler tones was probably the idea towards the end of the PCA 2024 ceremony. The star of Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings wound up the show, in a blue suit, and paired it with an IWC Portugieser with a blue dial, encased in steel. Though it’s been reported that this was also a perpetual calendar, on looking closer, we believe it was a Portugieser Annual Calendar. The apertures at 12 o’clock makes this rather apparent actually. While these display the month, date and day, at nine and three on the dial, you’ll find the running seconds and power reserve displays.
Special mention: Omega Constellation
Glen Powell At The PCA 2024
Actor Glen Powell continued to be an Omega loyalist at the PCA 2024 as well. Nominated as ‘comedy movie star of the year’ for his film, Anyone but You, Powell wore a grey suit with a double-breasted jacket. He paired his look with what most certainly seems to be an Omega Constellation—a steel version with a black dial and complementing black leather strap.
