Earlier this month, Omega presented an exhibition in New York City, on the milestones and achievements of the brand, with a showcase of historical timepieces, including that of former US President John F Kennedy. Reminiscent of the exhibits at the Omega museum in Bienne, the exhibition saw a host of celebrities show up at the opening, as well as in the days that followed. Naturally, this turnout included a host of Omega’s brand ambassadors, including supermodel Cindy Crawford, actress Nicole Kidman, actor Daniel Craig, and model Kaia Gerber. Here’s a look at the timepieces that these personalities wore at the exhibition.
Omega De Ville Ladymatic
Nicole Kidman At Planet Omega
Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman has been a brand ambassador for several years. She is always seen wearing Omega novelties or museum pieces at events, including awards shows, often while accepting her accolades. At Plant Omega, she was seen wearing a De Ville Ladymatic. A collection that was first started as one to offer mechanical watches for women, the Ladymatic made a splashing resurgence in the 2010s. Seen on Kidman’s wrist is the Ladymatic in Sedna gold, with ceramic used in the bracelet links. This chronometer timepiece presents the time and date on a mother-of-pearl dial.
At Planet Omega, Kidman stated, “Omega has been influential in so many aspects of life, as you can see in this gorgeous exhibition. The brand has always inspired me, and I love that their story can now be shared in this special way. It’s not until you see these watches up close that you begin to understand the beauty and craftsmanship involved.”
Omega Constellation Manhattan
Cindy Crawford And Kaia Gerber At Planet Omega
Supermodel Cindy Crawford was actually Omega’s first ambassador. The association began in 1995. Since then, Crawford has been seen in several campaigns off and on, even though we’ve seen less of her in recent years. Around 2018, Crawford’s daughter, model Kaia Gerber also forged a relationship with the brand, and was the face of the then-latest edition of the De Ville Trésor watches. The mother and daughter have made quite a few appearances together, in their capacity as Omega ambassadors, and even otherwise. The same was the case at the Planet Omega exhibition. Crawford and Gerber were seen wearing Constellation Manhattan watches. The former’s seemed to have been a 34mm chronometer, in steel and Sedna gold, with a mother-of-pearl dial, with small seconds. Gerber’s, on the other hand, appears to have been a 29mm version, also in steel and Sedna gold, but with a dial in blue aventurine.
“I’ve been with Omega for almost 30 years. It’s a brand I really value, and we’ve experienced so many different things together over the years,” expressed Crawford, the timeless supermodel, at the Planet Omega exhibition. This exhibition is a great reminder of Omega’s incredible journey. I feel quite proud that we’ve grown together, and always been able to support each other in our passions.”
Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch
Daniel Craig At Planet Omega
Former James Bond actor Daniel Craig also made an appearance at the Planet Omega exhibition. While usually the fictional Bond himself is considered an ambassador for Omega, with Craig, the association seems to have transcended his on-screen persona. This is the case even after Craig has put down the metaphorical martini, after having appeared in the last five Bond films, Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015), and No Time to Die (2021). While James Bond’s watches are mostly from the Seamaster collection, Craig was seen at Planet Omega wearing a Speedmaster—a Moonwatch to be precise. While it appears to be the Moonwatch in Canopus gold, the one on Craig actually has a red Speedmaster logo, which is not the case in the regular Canopus gold edition.
“I’ve long admired Omega’s timeless designs, and I love how this exhibition shows the authentic connection between their vintage watches and their latest models,” Craig commented at Planet Omega. “It’s a perfect way to demonstrate the unique essence of the brand.”
