Tradition of Excellence
This might come to you as a surprise but Chopard (Yes, the same craftsmen who’ve wooed us for so many years with their breathtaking watches) are in fact the masters of fine jewellery. This transition though only started in the 1970’s when the company was taken over by Karl Scheufele, the descendant of a dynasty of watchmakers and jewellers from Germany, starting from Louis-Ulysse Chopard himself.
Where it all started:
The transition started fairly early in the 70’s when the company was in fact taken over by Mr. Scheufele, who with his great experience with watchmaking, contributed towards the modernization of the company. His years of experience in jewels back in Germany gave birth to the jewellery segment in Chopard. The year 1974 was when they actually diversified into this absolutely new segment that was further sparked by the presence of Caroline Scheufele, the creator of the “Happy diamonds” collection – a jewel based on the idea of allowing diamonds to shine more brightly by freeing them entirely within the pendant or watch. Her passion for high-end jewellery is visible even today, considering she’s still the Artistic Director and Co-President of Chopard.

It is only because of her vision and attention to detail that the brand reached new heights. Chopard is today the official jeweller of the “Cannes Film Festival”. They also completely redesigned the “Golden Palm Award”, famously known as The Palme d’Or, handcrafted in ‘Fairminded’ gold and symbolizing the love of cinema. Chopard has been handcrafting this prestigious trophy since 1998.
A glamorous alliance:
Adding a glittery twist to Cannes Film Festival is the Red Carpet Collection which adds the perfect amount of glitz and glamour to the star-studded festival. The jewellery pieces adorned by all the celebs who walk down the red carpet at this highly acclaimed film festival are by Chopard.

Actually, when it comes to walking down the red carpet, Chopard reigns as the most preferred jewellery brand among stars around the world. The intricate jewel pieces have found admirers in Jennifer Lawrence, Monica Bellucci, Julianne Moore and our very own Aishwarya Rai and Sonam Kapoor, to name a few. That’s the magic of Chopard, you just can’t get enough of it.
Looking ethereal, Jennifer Lawrence showed her fondness for Chopard by donning stunning diamond pieces from the jewellery forerunner at the Oscars 2016.
Timeless grace and luck:
Chopard embodies grace and a spirit of exuberance in all their jewellery pieces. All the jewel pieces are designed with such versatility that they are nothing less than timeless statement pieces which seamlessly fit any age and occasion in your life.

Caroline Scheufele, Artistic Director and Co-President of Chopard, draws inspiration from anything and everything. As a matter of fact, India as a country inspires her to add colour to her designs.
“Inspiration can be anything or everything. It could be music or even countries like it was in the case of India. For me, your country is full of color – the clothes you wear, the weddings, etc. Even nature is very colourful.”
Happiness galore:
Back in the year 1976, something caught the fancy of the designer Ronald Kurowski – the sparkle of unset diamonds that led to the birth of ‘Happy Diamonds’. An innovative balancing concept which allowed diamonds to move freely, while being entrapped inside a pendant, the Happy collection brought the Baden-Baden Golden Rose prize home to Chopard. Be it their bejewelled watches or just jewel pieces, the Happy Collection has brought about a revolution in the field of watchmaking and jewellery.
With variations such as Happy Beach, Happy Sport, Miss Happy, Happy Bubbles, Happy Spirit, the collection has garnered worldwide success since 1976. The idea behind wearing jewels is to feel happy and Chopard delivers that with jewels that are happy and dancing. The process is depth and gruelling though. There are three stages that go into the creation of a happy diamond pendant. Each moving diamond is sheathed in gold from Chopard’s own foundry, so as not to scratch the sapphire crystal over which it must be able to roam freely. This bevelled sheathing further heightens the mobility of the diamonds, enabling them to whirl like spinning tops and thus generate maximum radiance. Chopard goes to extreme lengths to ensure that you feel nothing short of special.
