If artisanal craftsmanship had another name, it definitely would be the ambitious Space Timer series by Chronoswiss. Born on earth but reaching the vast expanse of space and time, these references are highly complicated watches that can make any watch collection truly glorious. From the Space Timer Moonwalk that explores the depth of the galaxy to the Space Timer Jupiter that draws inspiration from the largest planet of our solar system, the Space Timer series stretches the boundaries of the watchmaking galaxy. All five watches in the Chronoswiss Space Timer series are 44mm models that either wear a stainless steel body or a gold casing, powered by a highly functional high-frequency automatic movement. With several textures, different colours, varied designs and layouts, they all render a three-dimensional look for the dial that finds a great balance between bold and beautiful. If big watches bring you to the yard, then these Space Timer models are a perfect fit for your wrist. Audacious in its design, the Space Timer series is a collection of classic regulator watches with moonphase displays, delivering a watch face like none other.
Make Some Space For The Chronoswiss Space Timer Collection
The Chronoswiss Space Timer Collection hosts breathtaking models that are an extension of the brand’s Open Gear collection. These watches are not only a piece of meticulous craftsmanship but also represent the brand’s dedication to creating some of the most complex watches, expanding their ever-evolving repertoire. The Space Timer collection marked its entrance with the unveiling of the Space Timer Moonwalk and Space Timer Jupiter. Crafted with several distinct components, these timepieces boast an architectural aesthetic that captivates at every glance.
Still young, this vibrant collection now offers five Space Timer watches that impress the wearer with their regulator display and galactic themes. Limited to just 50 pieces, like all other Space Timer references, the Space Timer Moonwalk has an hour indicator at 12 o’clock with a visible gear train, under a bridge that is already found within the tourbillon models by the brand. At six o’clock, Chronoswiss have placed a moonphase indicator with date, which is an integrated titanium double complication. Odd Arabic numerals represent the dates, while even dates are indicated by steel microbeads. In a spellbinding display, materials, expert polishing, and diverse textures come together to craft an illusionary scene with time, date, moon, and stars that appear to glide in the cosmic abyss.
Varied Treatments For The Various Space Timer Watches
In developing the Space Timer Jupiter and Solaris, Chronoswiss delved deep into galactic aesthetics. Utilising high-resolution images sourced from NASA, a unique nano-printing method carefully reproduces cosmic elements. This cutting-edge technique achieves an unparalleled level of detail, bringing to life the swirling clouds and raging weather of Jupiter or the perpetual flames of the sun in a mesmerising 3D spectacle. In a testament to its ongoing evolution, Chronoswiss have also introduced the Space Timer Black Hole, a striking timepiece that embraces a dark dial design.
While the most recently introduced Black Hole becomes the first model in the series to receive a black DLC coating for its stainless steel case, models such as the Jupiter, Moonwalk, and Solaris stick to the regular steel casing, apart from the Space Timer Jupiter Gold that embraces an 18-karat red gold case. The lasered dials of the Space Timer watches are a result of a 63-part construction, showing a nano-print finish and skeletonised train wheel bridges, whereas the Space Timer Moonwalk revels in its hand-guilloche dial with a galvanic meteor coating.
Chronoswiss have paired the Jupiter, Jupiter Gold, Solaris, and Moonwalk with a black and hand-sewn alligator leather strap, while the Black Hole has been flanked by a matching hand-sewn calfskin strap. All these models can optionally be paired with a cordura strap. These models, straight out of the cosmos, offer a polished, satin-finished case, along with a polished screw-down bezel with side knurling, with curved and double-coated antireflective sapphire crystal.
The Movement That Drives The Chronoswiss Space Timer Collection
Powered by the C.308 automatic movement, the Chronoswiss Space Timer watches offer a standard power reserve of around 42 hours, beating at a frequency of 4Hz. In a brilliant display of attention to detail, the high-frequency engine features a polished pallet lever, escape wheel and screws, and bridges and plates with perlage.
The intricately crafted 3D dials, composed of multiple layers, take inspiration from celestial bodies, creating a unique visual experience. This out-of-the-world construction of the Space Timer stands at the forefront of progressive and avant-garde designs in mechanical watchmaking, promising nonconformist designs and the classical artisanal mastery that comes naturally to Chronoswiss.
