There is no doubt that Hublot are one of the most distinctive luxury watch brands globally, known for their bold designs and innovative use of materials. This unique approach has helped them to rise in popularity and prestige within the watchmaking industry. Founded in 1980 by the Italian watchmaker, Carlo Crocco, Hublot derive their name from the French word for ‘porthole’, which is also the inspiration for their distinctive case design.

The Classic Fusion collection was conceived as a more refined and minimalist alternative to the Big Bang

In 2004, Jean-Claude Biver became the CEO of Hublot and transformed the brand completely. He launched the Big Bang collection in 2005, featuring a bold design with visible screws, crafted in a fusion of materials such as ceramic, carbon fibre, and rubber. The Big Bang line quickly gained popularity, winning the ‘Best Design’ award at the 2005 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG). Its success set the stage for the development of the Classic Fusion collection, which debuted in 2010.

Classic Fusion: Bold Impact Of Minimalistic Design

The Classic Fusion collection was conceived as a more refined and minimalistic alternative to the Big Bang range. While it retained the iconic porthole design and the use of unconventional materials, it featured a thinner profile and a cleaner dial, making it versatile and suitable for both formal and casual settings. The Classic Fusion models are available in different sizes ranging from 45mm and 42mm to 38mm and 33mm—catering to a broad audience.
