IWC have joined hands with seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton to present the Portugieser Tourbillon Rétrograde Chronograph Lewis Hamilton. The teal dial clubbed with a refined platinum case delivers a watch that is bold in its shades, sculptural in its patterns, and original in its design. The driver of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team and IWC brand ambassador collaborated with the manufacture’s chief design officer to design his third special-edition timepiece, which is limited to 44 pieces. After one from the Ingenieur collection and another from the Pilot’s Watch series, it was time for the Portugieser collection to welcome a Lewis Hamilton watch that features the world champion’s logo, resembling a panther’s eyes. IWC and Hamilton worked together for two years to materialise the latest collaborative offering, which features an integrated tourbillon stop—the mechanism that comes to a complete halt to allow the wearer to set the time with unmatched accuracy.

The well-proportioned dial reflects IWC’s superior craftsmanship, as the watch face presents slightly recessed displays for the chronograph and the retrograde date. This phenomenal package demands instant attention with its flying hacking-minute tourbillon at six o’clock. The integrated tourbillon stop mechanism, crafted from 56 individual components weighing a mere 0.675g, stands as a remarkable achievement, surmounting numerous challenges during its meticulous construction.
