SpotlightEarthy Tones Of Indian Summer: The New Nomos Club Sport Neomatik 39

Three new Nomos Club Sport Neomatik 39 iterations in earthy tones encapsulate the seasonal shift of late summer, before the autumnal pause and slow glide into the winters

May We Recommend

“Now by the brook the maple leans / With all his glory spread / And all the sumachs on the hills / Have turned their green to red.” This excerpt from Canadian poet William Wilfred Campbell in his poem ‘Indian Summers’ signals the slow ebbing of the tropical season, and the earthy embrace of autumn. The term ‘Indian summer’ is also an expression for the concept of experiencing glory days towards the end of a chapter; for example, ‘she won many accolades towards the Indian summer of her career’. In a bid to encapsulate the seasonal shift of late summer, before the autumnal pause and slow glide into winter, the Nomos Club Sport Neomatik 39 has now been released with three new dials in earthy shades of tabac (dark brown), ember (gold beige), and smoke (light grey).

The earthy hued Nomos Club Sport Neomatik 39 features Super-Luminova applied hour markers, skeletal glaive hour and minute hands, for greater legibility under poor lighting

Radiant Indian Summer

The new Neomatik 39 trio under the Club Sport line fall under the category of ultra-slim sporty watches—39.5mm case with 8.4/8.5mm height, if it’s a closed caseback in steel or steel with sapphire crystal. A push-pull crown on the case seals off external elements, and together with the protective sapphire crystal glass helps makes the watch water-resistant upto 200m. This fully polished case cradles a dial in dark brown, beige/gold, or grey tones that define Indian summer. While the minimalistic Bauhaus design vocabulary forms the crux of Nomos Glashütte watches, the Neomatik 39 dials are not without subtle textures. A galvanished sunburst polish stems from the coaxial to the dial’s edges; while the symmetrical rays are interrupted by the sunken, Glashütte ribbed (snail textured) small seconds sub-dial at six o’clock. The dial offers dual contrasting tones; steel timekeeping elements—alternate hour markers of Arabic numerals and indexes, skeletal glaive hour and minute hands, an outer minute track and brand logo. Under poor lighting, the Super-LumiNova on the hour markers, indexes, and hands emits a radiant blue glow for greater legibility.

Winter Is Coming

Powering the dual-tone slim watches is the Nomos DUW 3001 Neomatik that beats at 21,600vph and offers 43-hour power reserve. The automatic, manual-winding movement stands out for its 27 jewels, a bidirectional winding rotor, and hacking seconds. All three iterations come attached to a steel, three-row bracelet, secured firmly with a folding clasp and quick-release spring bars.

Through the combined brown-and-steel aesthetic, the sporty-chic Nomos Glashütte successfully acknowledges the upcoming winter after the fiery Indian Summer draws to a close.
