It is also known that Nomos produce the highest volume of mechanical watches in Glashütte and among them is their most iconic models—the Tangente, launched in 1992, which has been a bestseller for more than 30 years now. The watch stands out for its precision, reliability, and a sophisticated modern design. The brand have recently launched an 18-karat red-gold version, which joins their coveted ‘175 Years Watchmaking Glashütte’ series—and is limited to just 175 pieces (no points for guessing that).
The Nomos Tangente Rose Gold Neomatik – 175 Years Watchmaking Glashütte is a stylish, elegant, and refined timepiece, which is a rich tribute to the watchmaking heritage of the famous German town. This is also the first time that the Tangente model has been produced in rose gold with a dial inspired by the original Tangente design. Back then, the steel-grey watch had a white dial with grey detailing, and the dial of the new rendition is galvanically white silver-plated but the seconds sub-dial and the minute markers are in rose gold. This forms quite a striking contrast which is visually appealing as the colour scheme is very well balanced.
The new Tangente timepiece follows a dress watch aesthetic and comes in a classic diameter of 35mm. Water-resistant to 30m, it’s quite angular and straightforward, and is presented on a brown leather strap with a winged clasp in 18-karat gold. However, unlike the original Tangente model, this one is driven by an automatic movement—the extremely thin, in-house Calibre DUW 3001. This sophisticated movement is also slender, highly precise, and equipped with the Nomos swing system, which ensures exceptional accuracy and keeps the watch running for at least 43 hours.
