If last year was about the iconic Speedmaster and its 60th anniversary, this time, Omega celebrates the biggest achievements and associations of the flagship Seamaster series, which turns 70 in 2018.

The Omega Seamaster has made a mark in not just the field of fine watchmaking, but also in fields such as sport and film. With Omega as the official timekeeper for the Olympic Games since 1932 and as a James Bond favourite since 1995, there have been many special edition Seamasters over the years. The latest Omega collection ramps up the thrills and excitement at Baselworld 2018.

Seamaster Turns 70

To commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Seamaster, Omega has introduced these 1948 limited editions to pay tribute to the original post-war classics. Touted as the ultimate civilian timepiece, this Omega Seamaster includes several elements that showcase the brand’s appetite for nostalgia. The sapphire caseback of each watch is laser engraved and lacquered by hand with a 70th Anniversary logo, a Chris-Craft boat and Gloster Meteor aircraft – the first jet plane used by the Royal Air Force. Available in two models of blue-grey and brown leather straps, each model in this edition is limited to 1,948 pieces.

The Seamaster Diver 300m: The Spirit Of The Ocean

The 2018 flagship of the Seamaster Diver 300m collection is a unique blend of materials that produces a stunning colour palette. Titanium, tantalum and 18K Sedna™ gold come together in perfect harmony in a limited-edition timepiece. This rare watch looks stellar in perfect matte, and a textured bezel, primarily in Omega’s patented gold alloy, Sedna™. The watch features a rich grey dial made of titanium with the Seamaster waves etched on it.

Giving their Seamaster Aqua Terra collection a makeover, Omega has launched a new model that is abound with a selection of precious materials. From the 38mm 18K Sedna™ gold case to the diamond-paved bezel, the 12 marquise-cut red rubies for indexes and the 191 diamonds on the dial – this watch exudes contemporary elegance in the true sense of the word. The watch is driven by the Master Chronometer Calibre 8807. Adding to the overall allure are the silvery guilloché waves on the dial and the glossy red leather strap that harmonise with the rubies.

The Moon On Your Wrist

The Speedmaster “Dark Side Of The Moon” Apollo 8 shines bright among Omega’s 2018 novelties. In a 44mm case in black ceramic, this edition pays tribute to the Apollo 8 mission that had NASA astronauts travelling to the far side of the moon – the dark side. With striking yellow accents, this Speedmaster is a real masterpiece owing to the skeletonised dial and transparent caseback that reveal a blackened movement inside. This texture is a recreation of the recorded observations made by the Apollo 8 astronauts of the dark side of the moon.

The All-New Trésor Collection: When Classic Meets Contemporary

For the ladies this year, Omega has introduced an exquisite collection called the Trésor. These are classical timepieces that feature rows of diamonds on the bezel from the top left lug to nine o’clock and diagonally opposite to that. With long Roman numeral hour markers and cases in Sedna™ gold or steel, these watches are available in a number of colour choices for the fabric strap. Featured in the worldwide campaign for this new collection from Omega is their brand ambassador, Kaia Gerber, model and daughter of long-time Omega brand ambassador and supermodel Cindy Crawford.
