You know you have come a long way when you have 99 years of legacy behind you, and when you evoke fond memories in history that transcend generations of people around the world. Titoni – one of the few family-owned Swiss watch manufacturers – is one that conjures up stories of nostalgia, love and admiration of an erstwhile Swiss watch atelier that made its ways into India soon after Independence, and thereafter found its way into the hearts and onto the wrists of watch lovers and aficionados in India.
Around The World In 99 Years
For most of India, Titoni is a vintage watch brand that was worn with great pride by our fathers or grandfathers, who lived to tell the tale of the legendary and most trusted watchmaker from Grenchen, Switzerland. Wearing a Titoni is akin to wearing 99 years of fine watchmaking craft and precision timekeeping, all rolled into one handsome timepiece. Take a look at the recent timepieces if you don’t believe us.
Paving Their Own Path
Founded in 1919 in Grenchen, at the foot of the Jura Mountains, by Fritz Schluep, Titoni started charting history as a small watch workshop; the watches were then sold under the name Felco. Committed to producing Swiss-made mechanical watches of the highest quality at affordable prices, the brand’s longstanding passion and quest to create fine watches are realised at their state-of-the-art in-house facilities in their atelier in Grenchen.
From creative design to modern technology, their obsessive love for details, is at the heart of their every process. In the words of Daniel Schluep, Titoni´s current CEO, “We set high standards for ourselves, and we sell only authentic Swiss quality time, and not an empty promise.” Schluep took over as head of the company in 1981, and represents the third generation to carry the torch of his family’s watchmaking heritage.
Titoni: Making Time Count
Titoni’s current positioning reflects the character of this family-run, charismatic Swiss company. It shows people who approach life with self-assurance, who know what they want and where they are going. Titoni watches are for people who know how to enjoy and cherish special moments in life. Think no more if you are one to value time. Make your time count with a heart that beats and believes in creating quality time.
The Master Of Titoni
Bringing its ingenious watchmaking craft to clients around the world, a true classic and tour de force, Titoni’s designs exude refined elegance and sophistication that will hold any well-dressed man in good stead. After a hiatus of over 40 years, their comeback collection of 2017 saw over 20 different watches, spread over 12 different collections. But the one to delight those who vie for exemplary accuracy and durability is undoubtedly the Titoni Master Series.
For starters, one glance at the Titoni Master Series and you know these are truly classical timepieces that make a chic yet powerful impression, and can be worn for any situation. Easily the finest expression of watchmaking par excellence, this renewed classic line boasts of a new design, as well as a large diameter of 41mm. However, what makes it a real star is the seal of the independent association COSC (Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute) – making it the brand’s only certified-chronometer line. To make this a truly coveted series, the COSC certificate is handed over together with the timepiece in an elegant wooden watch box.
The Makings Of The Master
With two distinct versions in the Master Series – one with a power reserve indicator and a big date on the dial, and the other with a clean dial with just a date indicator – the true mark of the Titoni Master Series is that all versions come with the official chronometer certification and automatic movements. An unmistakable case size of 41mm and a 21mm-wide watch bracelet make it instantly recognisable and impressive on any wrist.
The Master Series offers you a host of options to suit your personality. Choose from the classy black or brown leather or the oh-so-charming stainless steel options, even as its sunray dial glistens beautifully to make reading time a leisure activity. To enhance the beauty further, the SuperLuminova indexes and hands lead to a stunning show of light to ensure that time can be read perfectly, even in the dark. The leather variant offers a solid and decorative folding clasp for that perfect grip, while the steel variant beckons with a solid butterfly clasp to guarantee a perfect aesthetic finish and a secure wearing experience. With a power reserve up to 40 hours, and water resistance up to 100m, and varied watch faces, there’s not much to complain about.
Take your pick from the various sunray dial options and the strap options in leather or steel. While the double-curved, antireflective sapphire crystal glass enables clear reading of time, the transparent caseback offers a fascinating view of the automatic, rhodium-plated movement. All models are aided with a double security system of the crown and polished bezel. So whether you opt for the clean and elegant leather or the dressy and imposing steel, Titoni delivers on style, performance, technology, and savoir faire.
