This year, Omega introduced us to an exciting new ladies’ collection – the De Ville Trésor – made especially with the modern woman in mind. Characterised by its classic, yet modern persona, the Trésor collection defies all style trends. With each timepiece intricately detailed and designed, here is a timepiece that exudes confidence – a trait that can easily be transferred to the wearer of the watch, all the while paying tribute to the rich heritage of the brand and their massive history of developing exquisite women’s watches.

With reimagined elements like a beautiful slim, diamond-studded case, oversized Roman numerals on the dial, classically inclined hands and fashionable straps, the Trésor deeply personifies the shift in the way women think about true beauty. Used first by Omega in 1949, the word trésor means ‘treasure’ in French. At the time, this was a reference to the treasure one would find inside the watch – the renowned 30mm calibre movement beating within. The slim movement paved the way for the Trésor collection to be synonymous with a thin, beautiful case. This led to the introduction of a highly popular De Ville Trésor released in 2014. Following in the footsteps of the original, the 2014 version too featured a thin case with a new co-axial movement beating inside.

In 2018, Omega gave new life to the Trésor collection with a wide range of new watches that feature the ‘treasure’ – a precise quartz movement housed within an even thinner case. Forward-thinking in its design and character, it retains the quintessential spirit of Omega’s repertoire of women’s watches, including the Ladymatic and the iconic Constellation collection. Grabbing the attention of a new generation of women, the Trésor collection offers contemporary watches reminiscent of the past.

Digging Deeper

Available in a case size of either 36mm or 39mm, the Trésor is distinctly characterised by the signature slim case, the diamond-set bezel and the beautifully realised oversized Roman numeral hour markers. Besides the case, even the crown features a single diamond, set and decorated with a floral motif, made of five Omega emblems. Despite the bling though, the watch isn’t flashy or loud, with the impressive restraint shown in its elegant design. Furthermore, even though the watch is slim, it’s not without its curves. The contours of the case and lugs ensure it embraces your wrist perfectly. Also, in curves are the rows of diamonds paved on both sides of the bezel.

The simple beauty and watchmaking expertise involved in setting the diamonds reaffirms Omega’s keen eye and steady hands. The setting of the diamonds involves first selecting a row of high-quality diamonds that align with the prerequisite characteristics of the unique slots in the specially designed case. Despite its historic claim to fame of featuring slim yet high-performance mechanical movements, the new ladies’ De Ville Trésor offers the precision of a quartz movement, with Omega’s calibre 4061 beating inside. Additionally, bringing forth the idea of creating a timepiece celebrating a woman’s uniqueness in character, strength, intelligence and style, the back of the watch is decorated with a special mirrored caseback, featuring a ‘Her Time’ design.

This unique addition reflects the brand’s endeavour to not only provide a useful accessory but set a powerful reminder to all the women of their uniqueness and contagious charisma.

Omega sticks to its theme of celebrating women and offers the collection in nine different models, ensuring that ladies are spoilt for choice. These include steel and 18-carat Sedna gold cases, with a range of strap options in satin and leather. There is also a wide range of dial colours that one can choose from, including black, taupe-brown, white, blue, opaline silver, and a mother-of-pearl option as well.

Kaia’s Choice

To top it all, Omega went a step further and introduced the new Trésor collection with its newest brand ambassador and fastest rising name in the fashion industry, Kaia Gerber, with a campaign titled ‘Kaia’s Choice’. “I’m really drawn to classic style, and for me, the Trésor has that vintage look, but with a cool, very modern twist. It’s a beautiful watch to look at and I love wearing it,” gushes Gerber, daughter of Cindy Crawford – the legendary supermodel and long-time brand ambassador of Omega.
