History
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control collection is inspired by the first ultra plate watch created by the brand in 1907. Introduced as a collection in 1992, the collection was the first collection to go through the brand's ‘1000 Hours Control' certification, thus the name ‘Master Control'.
Features
The Master Control collection is home to clean round cases with dauphine hands and an amalgamation of index markers and Arabic numerals. Inside the Master Control Date series, the date window is fixed at the 3 o'clock marker. Whereas in the Master Control Calendar series, the day/month window is fixed at the 12 o'clock marker and the date is marked by a long central hand. The Master Control Calendar series is also home to a moon phase sub-dial at the 6 o'clock marker. This moon phase sub-dial also doubles up as a small seconds sub-dial.
The Master Control Geographic
The Master Control collection is also home to a dual timer. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Geographic is a perfectly balanced dual timer with an indicator displaying cities between the 5 and 7 o'clock marker. Apart from the cities, the Master Control is fitted with a power reserve indicator at the 9 o'clock marker and a date sub-dial at the 3 o'clock marker. The second time zone is displayed at the 6 o'clock marker sub-dial with both hour and minute hands. There is also a day/night indicator fitted along the second time zone.
The Master Control Chronograph Calendar
Not a usual chronograph, the Master Control Chronograph Calendar is home to a pulsometer displayed on the flange. The pulsometer is used to measure heart rate and was primarily used by doctors during the second world war. Apart from the pulsometer, the series is equipped with a day/month window at the 12 o'clock marker. The 30-minute counter and the hour counter are fixed at the 3 and 9 o'clock marker, respectively. At the 6 o'clock marker is the moon phase indicator with a small hand pointing to the date printed on the flange of the moon phase sub-dial.
The Memovox Timer
The first Memovox was released in the 1950s, garnering a positive response. In 1956, the Memovox became the first automatic alarm watch in history. To carry forward this legacy, Jaeger-LeCoultre decided to launch a limited-edition timepiece called the Memovox Timer. The Memovox Timer is an alarm clock but with a countdown timer too. The inner concentric dial is used to display the countdown timer. The crown at the 2 o'clock marker is used to adjust the timer. Apart from the timer and the alarm, the timepieces are also equipped with a date window at the 3 o'clock marker.
Master Control Tourbillon Dualtime
Expanding the horizon of Haute Horlogerie, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Tourbillon Dualtime is equipped with rare case materials like white and rose gold. Few of the timepieces are also equipped with a diamond-studded bezel. Apart from the aesthetic, the series is also home to various complications. The Tourbillon Duatime is fixed with a tourbillon at 6 o'clock and the sub-dial displaying the second time zone is placed at the 12 o'clock marker. There is also a date indicator indicated by a long central hand.
