About the Breitling Classic AVI Collection
History
It was the age of the jets, the time for new adventures, it was the 50s when Breitling came out with the AVI timepieces. Called the Ref. 765 AVI Co-Pilot, the Breitling Classic AVI collection is a homage to cockpit clocks from the 1930s. The collection is noted for its big, legible dials, a perfect partner for an aviator.
Features
A perfect example of a pilot's watch, the Breitling Classic AVI collection features a teethed bezel and a big crown. Apart from the bezel, the Classic AVI collection is fitted with chronograph timepieces. One can choose between vertically or horizontally stacked chronographs that display minutes, seconds and hours on the dial. Apart from the chronograph, the collection also features a GMT that denotes the second time zone by a long central hand. What makes these timepieces more exciting is that they capture the essence and structure of classic machines of the sky such as the De Havilland Mosquito, Curtiss Warhawk, P-51 Mustang, and Vought F4U Corsair.Apart from these aircraft-inspired timepieces, the collection also features the complacent Aviator 8. The Aviator 8 features both a chronograph and a day/date variant.
The Limited Editions
Paying a dramatic tribute to the original Ref. 765 AVI Co-Pilot from 1953, the AVI Ref. 765 1953 Edition is equipped with a simple chronograph setup. This dial setup is directly inspired by the original Classic AVI.
