About the Breitling Professional Collection
Rooted in a rich history, Breitling has been at the forefront of watchmaking since the late 1930s. The Professional collection reflects the vision of Ernest Schneider, who took the helm in 1979, and his son Theodore Schneider, who carried on the legacy in 1994. They expanded Breitling's offerings to include multifunctional instruments like the Aerospace and Emergency models for explorers and aviation professionals. This collection has been essential for those who demand precision and reliability in their field.
Design and Iteration
Breitling's Professional Collection is renowned for its innovative designs tailored for aviation purposes. The Aerospace, unveiled in 1985, showcases Breitling’s innovation with its sleek titanium case, dual analogue and digital displays, and a user-friendly control system operated by a single crown. This design balances robustness with lightness, making it ideal for aviation professionals. It also boasts features such as a second timezone, a 1/100th of a second chronograph, an alarm, and a backlighting display, all cohesively managed through its crown. The Emergency series, introduced in 1995, revolutionised rescue missions with its built-in micro transmitter capable of sending distress signals on international air frequencies. In 2013, the Emergency II advanced this technology by incorporating a dual-frequency personal locator signal, making it the world’s first wristwatch with an authentic dual-frequency distress beacon. This innovation significantly enhances the reliability and effectiveness of search and rescue operations. The Skyracer and Airwolf chronographs are engineered for extreme durability, featuring SuperQuartz movements for exceptional precision. These models include rubber-moulded pushpieces and resilient bezels, designed to withstand demanding conditions. Meanwhile, the Exospace B55, launched in 2015, and the Endurance Pro, in 2020, represent Breitling's foray into smart technology. These watches offer smartphone connectivity and are crafted from lightweight materials, making them perfect for athletes and adventurers.
