History

The Superocean Heritage collection pays tribute to the classic 1957 original with a vintage charm and contemporary advancements. The Superocean Heritage II, launched in 2017, enhances its predecessor with modern technology while retaining its vintage charm. This model features a 42mm case and is equipped with a high-tech ceramic bezel, offering durability and a sleek appearance. It is powered by the calibre B20, which is based on Tudor’s MT 5612 movement. This series in the collection have water resistance up to 200 metres and is available with various dial colours and strap options. Its refined design combines classic elements with contemporary advancements, making it ideal for recreational diving as well as everyday wear. The Superocean Heritage '57, released in 2020, pays homage to Breitling’s symbolic 1957 Superocean. This model reflects its historical prototype with distinct design features, including a concave bidirectional bezel that slopes inward toward the crystal. The dial captures vintage charm with conical indices at three, six, nine, and 12 o'clock, framed by a retro-inspired layout. Notably, this series eschews a date display, enhancing its classic appeal. Powered by their in-house calibre B10 the watch holds COSC chronometer certification, ensuring precision and reliability. Meanwhile, The SuperOcean Heritage Chronograph are versions of this collection that offer superior chronograph technology, sporting two to three counter subdials. Also home to limited edition timepieces, these timepieces are limited to just 500 units.

Design and Iteration

The concept of less is more is amply glorified by the minimalistic design of the SuperOcean Heritage collection. The smooth dial is available in various colours, whereas the bezel may be the same or a different hue from the dial, and in some cases, adorned with a red gold ring. The absence of numerals on the dial exemplifies the simplistic design and appeal of this collection. The hands are oversized and bold, with luminescent filling to ensure visibility even in the depths of the ocean. The collection offers unique and durable Ocean Classic or Ocean Racer bracelets, along with more common options such as leather.
