CLIMB THE CHALLENGES WITH THE ULTIMATE CLIMBING PARTNER, THE BIVOUAC 9000
The Raider Bivouac 9000 is one of the first watches capable of mechanically measuring altitudes up to 9,000 metres. It was first released in 2017, delivering unprecedented functionality with style. It touches on various novel elements that include the rotating bezel's ability to display the variation in the air pressure of a place. Such unique features combined with tasteful details bestow versatility in spades, culminating in a succinct timepiece.
Streamlined Proportions
The Chief Chronograph features a 41mm steel case with a unique design. At only 14mm thickness, the timepiece strikes a perfect balance between robustness and wearability, ensuring it becomes an integral part of one's active lifestyle. Inspired by the glorious history, this cushion-shaped case boasts a modern appeal because of its contemporary proportions and the multifaceted design.
It features multiple, brilliantly executed finishes such as vertical brushing, mirror polish on the sides and pushers that add a beautiful contrast and highlight the contours of the case. It exudes an understated allure creating a subtle play of light, giving the watch a refined and versatile character. It is topped by a box sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. The sapphire crystal case-back offers a view of the beautifully decorated calibre and a water resistance of 100M.
Pleasing Dial Aesthetics
This stunning blue dial of the Chief Chrono goes through over 100 steps in production. It boasts a combination of a sunray brushed finish on the base and circular brushing on the sub-dials. It is also equipped with a tachymeter scale on the internal rehaut to measure speed, a signature of sports chronograph timepieces.
A 3D monogram set inside the dial and multi-faceted hands and applied indices with brushing and sandblasting add depth to the watch face. The bi-compax sub-dials offer at-a-glance readability of elapsed minutes and seconds.
Specially-Designed Movement
The Bivouac is equipped with a specially designed movement, what makes this movement unique is the addition of an aneroid capsule that makes the altimeter tick. This aneroid sensor is cleverly placed over the movement and functions as a symbiotic part of the FL311.
Seamlessly Integrated
The three-link integrated steel bracelet features a combination of finishes, alternating between vertical brushing and polished centre links. It unites seamlessly with the case and tapers towards the end which gives it a graceful presence on the wrist. The bracelet is equipped with an easy change mechanism and secures with a butterfly clasp.
Superior Driving Force
Designed and manufactured with high Swiss craftsmanship, LPJ L113 is a self-winding column wheel chronograph calibre. A testament to unrivalled accuracy and reliability, the movement is equipped with a column wheel chronograph. It features a power reserve of 60 hours and delivers exceptional precision, beating at a 4Hz frequency.
Immaculately Decorated Calibre
The watch offers a clear view of the immaculately decorated calibre through the sapphire crystal caseback. It carries superlative finishing on all the elements, meticulously executed with refined detail, such as Pearlage on the lower bridges, Côtes de Genève on the main plate, Soleillage on the rotor, heat-treated blued crews, column wheel and more.
Specially Crafted
The 4N gold-plated rotor is skeletonised and custom-designed with Colimmaçon & Soleillage finishes. The Favre Leuba monogram is engraved as a medallion along with the text ‘Swiss made since 1737’. Skeletonisation of the rotor is an extremely precise task with more implications than just aesthetics.
The weight and other characteristics of the rotor boast surgical precision to ensure winding efficiency.
Column Wheel Supremacy
The movement features a column wheel mechanism to govern the chronograph function, instead of the more common cam-actuated chronograph. A column wheel chronograph mechanism is considered to be superior, more precise and a lot more difficult to manufacture. Blueing is a result of a very precise heat treatment process which is used to increase the hardness. This process also results in the part turning to a stunning blue colour.
Even the slightest imperfection can result in an imperfect and uneven blue finish. In that case, the watchmaker has to repolish and clean the part in order to start afresh.
