About the Frederique Constant Manufacture Collection
In 2004, Frédérique Constant marked a significant milestone by introducing its first in-house calibre, officially becoming a “Manufacture.” This achievement allowed the brand to control every aspect of watchmaking, from development to assembly. Since then, the Manufacture collection has expanded to include 31 in-house calibres, showcasing Frédérique Constant’s commitment to craftsmanship and innovation. Over the years, the collection has continually pushed the boundaries of traditional watchmaking, demonstrating the brand’s dedication to excellence and advancement in the industry.
Design Innovations
The 2004 Manufacture is notable for its unique balance wheel bridge placement at six o'clock, enhancing the Open Heart dial's visual appeal. This innovative approach continued with the 2008 Tourbillon Manufacture, which features a rotating tourbillon within the Heart Beat aperture, combining traditional design with advanced complications. The 2012 Classics Worldtimer exemplifies the brand's dedication to both form and function with its 42mm polished case, convex sapphire crystal, and textured world-map dial. The 2016 Manufacture Perpetual Calendar, available in both the elegant Classics and Highlife barrel-shaped case, merges classic charm with sophisticated complications. The 2021 Slimline Monolithic presents a sleek design with Roman numerals and Breguet hands.
Craftsmanship
Frédérique Constant’s innovations span several key models. The 2004 calibre FC-910 introduced a unique balance wheel bridge, while the 2007 calibre FC-935 was their first self-winding movement using non-magnetic silicon. In 2008, the Tourbillon Manufacture with the Calibre FC-980 combined a silicon escapement, a day-night indicator, and a rotating tourbillon. The 2012 Classics Worldtimer, powered by the calibre FC-718, offered world-time functionality with a single crown adjustment. Meanwhile, 2017 Flyback Chronograph Manufacture introduced the calibre FC-760 with a star-shaped column wheel and unique swivelling component. The 2021 Slimline Monolithic advanced watchmaking with its integrated Monolithic oscillator.
