About the Oris Rectangular Collection
History
During the 1930s, Oris fitted one of its movements inside the tank-shaped watch called the Bentima Star. Inspired by the Bentima, Oris decided to create an art-deco-inspired rectangular watch in the 1940s. After falling into the sands of time, the art-deco-inspired watch was revived again in 2001 with the Oris Miles Davis Limited edition. To permanently install the rectangular watches inside its hangar, the brand decided to launch the Oris Rectangular collection in 2021.
Features
Inspired by the art deco movement, the symmetrically precise Rectangular collection is available in a case size of 25.5 x 38mm. The collection features a variety of dial and strap colours such as red, blue, and green. Apart from multiple colours, the timepieces also feature a date window at the 6 o'clock marker. The date window is further complemented by legible Arabic numerals coupled with slender sword-shaped hands. The polished steel case and its compact size make it a perfect dress watch.
Movement
Inside the Oris Rectangular collection is the Oris 561 automatic movement. Based on the ETA 2671, the Oris 561 offers a power reserve of approximately 38 hours and vibrates at 28,800 vph.
