About the Parmigiani Toric Collection
History
After years of research & development, Michel Parmigiani decided to inaugurate his first creation under the name of Parmigiani Fleurier. The name of the primogeniture was Toric, a hand-crafted timepiece that made Parmigiani a reputed name inside the Swiss watchmaking industry. In 2017, the Parmigiani Toric collection won the GPHG award.
Features
With the classic hand-crafted knurled round case, the Toric collection is equipped with various series such as the Chronometre, the Hemispheres Retrograde, and the Quantieme Perpetuel.Inside the Toric Chronometre series, the automatic PF441 movement is COSC certified, thus the name ‘Chronometre'. The Toric Chronometre is also fitted with a date window at the 6 o'clock marker. Another series, the Hemispheres Retrograde is a dual-timer with a day/night indicator for each. The second time zone is placed at the 12 o'clock marker with a day/night indicator at 3 o'clock of the sub-dial. Whereas for the home time, the day/night indicator is placed inside the small seconds' dial at the 6 o'clock marker and the date is marked by a long crescent-tipped central hand.
The Quantieme Perpetual & Tourbillon
The Quantieme Perpetuel series is equipped with a moon phase at the 6 o'clock marker. The day/month windows are placed at the centre of the dial while the date is marked by a central hand. The Parmigiani Toric collection is also home to a tourbillon-fitted timepiece. Called the Toric Tourbillon, the complication is specifically placed at the 7 o'clock marker. The unusual position is an ode to the founder, Michel Parmigiani as Michel was born on 2nd December 1950 at 7:08 am.
