About the Tissot Heritage Collection
Essence
Tissot is a brand with more than 160 years of experience and expertise in watchmaking. With the Tissot Heritage collection, the brand pays homage to its years of experience with a touch of contemporary watchmaking in it. The collection provides insight into the excellent watchmaking skills this brand has possessed for years.
Features
Grabbing the attention of the original Visodate from 1954, the Visodate series features a clean round case with a date window at 3 o'clock marker and a day/date window in some. In the case of Heritage Porto, the inspiration for the case is directly from a timepiece that was manufactured by Tissot in 1910 and the name is inspired by the Portuguese city after being declared the European Capital of Culture in 2001.Whereas, Heritage 1973 is inspired by the sports watch that was prominent during the 1970s and features a tachymeter on the outer flange of the dial complemented by a chronograph fitted inside a unique case. In another case of preserving robust watchmaking, Tissot decided to ingrain the Tissot Heritage Telemeter 1938 inside the collection. The telemeter on the dial is able to calculate the distance between two objects and was first invented in 1938. Similarly, the Tissot Heritage 1948 features the exact same dial that was featured in the chronographs crafted by the brand in 1948.
Limited Editions
In a bid to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Renault's Alpine manufacturer, Tissot launched the Tissot Heritage Visodate Automatic Alpine Dieppe 50th Anniversary Special Edition in 2019. Another limited edition timepiece is the Tissot Heritage Banana Centenary Edition. These timepieces were launched to commemorate the “Banana” shaped watches that were launched by Tissot in 1919. Tissot celebrated its 160th Anniversary with a piece that reflects its love for new horizons with the Tissot Heritage Navigator. This piece has vintage class and the modern businessman's tool. It will allow being on time no matter the location around the globe with its automatic chronometer precision. The time for the other 23 countries will be indicated by the numbers on the minute track in front of their Capital.
