About the Carl F. Bucherer Patravi Collection
The Patravi collection by Carl F. Bucherer, launched in 2001, exemplifies the brand's dedication to creating highly functional and technologically advanced timepieces. Since its inception, Patravi has become a hallmark of Carl F. Bucherer's craftsmanship, offering a range of robust and versatile watches equipped with advanced complications. Signature models such as the TravelTec, ScubaTec, and ChronoDate have set new standards in the industry, showcasing features like triple time zone displays, deep-sea diving capabilities, and precise chronograph functions. Primarily a collection of sports watches, Patravi models are designed for active and professional use, though their refined aesthetics also make them suitable for formal settings. Today, the Patravi collection remains a leader in high-end watchmaking, with each model meticulously designed to meet the practical needs of professionals while maintaining a distinctive and elegant aesthetic.
Features And Mechanism
The Patravi collection from Carl F. Bucherer combines bold design with advanced horology. Its robust, rounded cases, prominent lugs, and rich materials - such as stainless steel and rose gold - offer a commanding presence. The A1000 calibre, featuring a distinctive peripheral rotor, delivers precision with a 55-hour power reserve and reduced friction. This innovative rotor design allows for a slimmer case while enhancing winding efficiency.
Iterations
The TravelTec, introduced in 2005, features an inner ring for the third time zone that can be adjusted by pressing a button, allowing it to move forward or backwards in one-hour steps. The push button mechanism is visible through an aperture on the side of the case. TravelTec is available in vibrant colourways for an overall characterful look. In 2013, the Patravi ScubaTec debuted as Carl F. Bucherer's first diving watch. The collection checks off all the boxes of a great dive watch both with their technical prowess displayed by peripheral technology and with unique visuals exuded with their fish scales-patterned dial.

Carl F. Bucherer is an independent Swiss watchmaking house similar to Raymond Weil, FP Journe and few others. The brand was found in the early 1900s by Carl F Bucherer, an entrepreneur. The brand has a long affiliation with Rolex since its inception and is the major tech provider.
The Patravi travel technology is a technogeek's version of a Swiss watch from a reputed watchmaking house. Tthe 46mm round steel case stands out from the usual 42mm regular wears. The high quality Rolex sourced calibre(modified by the company)offers a good chronograph With 1/20 second timekeeping.the gmt function is a boon for globetrotters aiding in shift of time zones. The crown and switches are solid and durable.the double stitched thick black strap with red backside is similar to the one used by Panerai in their Rattrapante Ferrari series.
Overall verdict.: Exceptional watch with a good price tag (not reasonable by Indian standards) offering a plethora of features.
