About the Doxa SUB 200 Collection
The Doxa SUB 200, introduced in 2019, marks a new entry-level addition from the Swiss dive watchmaker known for their distinctive cushion case designs. Doxa originally pioneered this style back in 1967 with the SUB 300, establishing a heritage deeply rooted in professional diving timepieces. The SUB 200 represents the latest evolution in the SUB series. It embodies a classical, utilitarian 'tool' watch design, showcasing the brand's distinctive spirit and commitment to functional excellence.
Timeless Design
The Doxa SUB 200 breaks the mould with its rounded curves, a departure from the brand's signature cushion-shaped divers' watches. Doxa has added a slight chamfer to the bottom of the mid-case, eliminating any flatness. At three o'clock, there's a screw-down crown that's slightly recessed, balancing between crown guards and a vintage look. It features an orange Doxa fish logo, adding a hint of colour. The standout feature is the beautifully clear domed sapphire crystal, reminiscent of old acrylic but with the durability of sapphire. For varied wear, it comes with either a colour-matched rubber strap or a steel "beads of rice" bracelet. Each of the dial's vivid hues-"Sharkhunter" (black), "Searambler" (silver), "Caribbean" (mid-tone blue), "Divingstar" (yellow), "Aquamarine" (turquoise), and the "Professional" (orange)-showcases a different aspect of DOXA's distinct style.
Robust Features
The DOXA SUB 200 is powered by the reliable ETA 2824-2 Swiss automatic movement. It ensures the SUB 200's performance is both dependable and accurate. The collection boasts a water resistance of 200 meters, a robust companion for underwater adventures. The bezel is nicely sprung with a precise, clicky action and sharp serrations for a positive grip. Fitted with a luminous sapphire bezel insert, the watches offer excellent legibility. Its lume provides sufficient visibility in low light.
