Rado The Original Automatic

History

Rado was not a very well-known brand in the world of watchmaking during the 1960s. It was in 1962, the brand gained the recognition it deserved with the launch of the Rado DiaStar Original collection. This was the first scratch-resistant watch in the world and while the watchmakers were busy complicating the mechanical aspect of a timepiece, Rado solely concentrated on the aesthetical aspect of it.

The DiaStar Original fits the bill for the bold and ageless appeal of the first DiaStar. In terms of displaying matters apart from time, the DiaStar features a day/date feature window either at 6 or 3. The DiaStar Original also features a skeleton variant displaying the robust automatic movement on the dial.
